Throughout the year, a group of women of all ages and stages of life get together for a day of adventure. It’s not just an adventure in the outdoors, but an adventure into relationships with one another. These adventures enable us to be courageous in the challenge of the day, laugh, ask questions about life and connect with one another on our spiritual journey. Welcome to Mother’s of Preschoolers at The Bible Chapel! We are glad that you have found us, and we look forward to meeting you and your children this year! Our theme this year is MomSense: Bold, Loving and Sensible.

Registration for MOPS begins on August 1, 2011. We only have a certain number is slots available for childcare – so please register as early as possible to ensure your spot! We will begin a waiting list once the childcare slots are filled. We typically are able to open up the waiting list as some MOPS moms change plans/schedules and drop out – so please make sure to sign up!

When you register yourself online, you will need to register your children separately. You will receive a confirmation number for yourself and your children via email. If you do not receive a confirmation number, please contact either Kelly Hirsch or Christina Ratti. You can pay by credit card online this year or by check/cash at the first meeting (check payable to The Bible Chapel).

Our fee for MOPS is $94.00. This includes a $24 MOPS Int’l yearly fee that is paid directly to them and you will receive a packet of information, book and other goodies. And if you should move or join another MOPS group you will not have to pay that fee for 2011-2012. The rest of the fee is a $5 per meeting fee to pay for crafts, demonstrations, hospitality, etc. We ask that you pay the fee up front so that we can plan for the number of women at each meeting. If you need assistance with this fee, please let Kelly or Christina know.

Purpose: The purpose of MOPS International is to meet the needs of every mom — urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms — moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be to the glory of Jesus Christ!” Every mom is invited to come regardless of her religious affiliation.

Dates: MOPS meets on the second and fourth Monday each month (October through May) at the South Hills campus, Rooms 141-142. Drop-off for kids begins at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting begins at 10:00 a.m.

Come along with author Beth Moore on a journey to get to know both the man and the Book of James. James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.

Our Together Groups are mentoring groups patterned after our very popular Men’s Huddle Groups. Women will work through a series of book and Bible Studies designed to address some of the larger issues we face in the Christian faith. Life purpose, forgiveness, spiritual warfare and dealing with unexpected turns in life are just a few of the topics you will study. Accountability and an 18-month weekly commitment are the foundation of these groups.

Whether you are a woman launching into a career, marriage or parenting, a mentoring/discipleship relationship with another woman provides heart-to-heart sharing, accountability and spiritual growth. All participants will complete a profile to be matched with another woman and agree to meet on a regular basis. The ministry utilizes the Growing in Christ curriculum.

Based on the principles taught in Titus 2:3-5, older women instruct and nurture younger married women by combining a practical cooking segment and six scriptural lessons: Kindness, Loving Your Husband, Loving Your Children, Submission, Purity and Hospitality. The ministry meets in the homes of our mentors and concludes with a celebration dinner.
