Basketball, Cheerleading, Flag Football and Soccer for Boys and Girls Grades K-6!
Our culture has created a “win at all cost” mentality—the most points, the most trophies, the most championships generally define a winner. Upward defines winning as learning and/or teaching lessons in the game of life—lessons that last long after the season ends.
Upward promotes character and self esteem in every athlete by:
Promoting equal teams and playing opportunities
Limiting practice and games to one hour per week
Creating the opportunity to learn the skills of the game
Special player and team announcements at every game
Presenting every player with special recognition awards after each game and at the Awards Celebration
Upward Values
The Priority of Children: We believe that every child is a winner.
The Expectation of God-Moments: We believe that God is at work all around us.
The Discipline of Excellence:We believe in serving that exceeds expectations.
The Life of Integrity: We believe that how we live is more important than what we say.

The Bible Chapel strives to provide a safe environment for all children participating in Upward Sports. To this end, all Basketball Coaches, Cheerleading Coaches and Referees are required to complete and submit the appropriate volunteer application and to have a valid Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance certificate and a clearance from a State Police background check.
If you feel led to coach or referee in this ministry, please print and complete the appropriate application and clearance forms and return them to the Sports Ministry Director.
If you have a heart for children and this ministry, the following opportunities are available – consider joining the team! Together we can introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports. To volunteer for this 16-week commitment, contact Mike Smith, Sports Ministry Director, at msmith@biblechapel.org or 724-941-8990.
