The mission of the Library at The Bible Chapel is to support the work and values at The Bible Chapel by collecting and cataloging media (books, audios and videos) of interest to adults, teens and children. The library was started in 1990 as a few reference books made available to a Sunday school class. Today, the library has an extensive reference collection, including classics from St. Augustine, John Bunyan, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and C.S. Lewis. The shelves are also stocked with new and popular videos, DVDs, CDs and audio cassette tapes. All ages are welcome, as we offer everything from board books for babies to large print books.

Items in the library are bar-coded and entered into a database. For these bar-coded items, a library card is necessary. A sign-up sheet is on the checkout desk so that anyone attending The Bible Chapel can sign up for a card. Just stop back at the library on a Sunday morning and ask for your card.

The library operates on the “honor system.” Please sign library materials out according to the instructions that are posted at the checkout desk. The Bible Chapel has been blessed over the years to receive the bulk of its inventory via donations. Thank you to all of you who have given so generously! Due to limited space, we cannot always use all the materials given to us, so those items are passed on to the The City Mission to be sold and used in their ministry to the poor.

The library is staffed by volunteers; therefore, it is often a self-serve operation. We make every effort to have someone available on Sunday mornings, so please stop by to see us!
